    2019 Merc 200hp 4 stroke DTS lower unit removal ?

    Im about to change out the impeller on my
    2019 200hp 4 stroke with DTS. SN 2B685151
    I cant find any info out there about the shift rod.
    In the past I always put them in gear when pulling lower unit.

    Am I over thinking this and just leave boat in neutral?
    Parts diagram looks like shift rod stays in lower unit and has a flat head screwdriver shape where it goes into shift motor.

    All the old motors you are correct, pull it in fwd. Thats how it has been for decades. However, all the engines that shift via servos must (according to mercury) be pulled in neutral. Thats how they want us doing all of them now. Thats one of the things that came out in recent training. That, no grease on the top of the driveshaft splines, and pulling the driveshaft up when you seat the slinger.
