DDT Cartridge for Merc 280 CON or ROS box

Does anyone know if smartcraft cartridge Version 1.2 (merc part number 91-880118-2) will work? It says it is used for PCM555 outboards and mercrusier with the same Motorola boxes. I have also found that the 280 manual calls for 91-822608-5 Version 4 and then superseded by 91-822608-6 Version 5.

Please let me know if you know!

    thanks

Is the Motorola box on my 280 a PCM 555? If so I think Smartcraft version 1.2 (merc part 91-880118-2) is one that will work as it is listed as for PCM 555 Outboards (also used on mercruiser), I think........ The one that the 280 manual calls for is version 5.0 (merc part 91-882608-6) but that states for non-PCM 555 Outboards. So that must be 260 merc box???

i dont have paperwork in front of me but i know that #5 cartridge is good on 280 as well as #1.2 cartridge - opti - the differance being you need a 2 pin for the opti hookup to the master cord for lack of better terms

Okay - here's one - don't forget to turn key off after your check - I have been there , satisfied I have used the DDT to it's full potential ! No issues on run history - pressed a couple more buttons and pretty smug I'm ready . Tomorrows start up - letdown .
I recently read a few times - guys are in " break in " mode - you have to punch a few prompts to get there or how about fuel offset - same there - you gotta punch a few to change .
Soo if you are using the DDT and you didn't read the manual lightly - it can help !
I understand though not needing the manual -
