New to site..hydrostream owner
Hi
Just a note to introduce myself. been a lurker through a couple boats, last one was a Rogers jet.
Decided to officially sign up since purchasing a virgin (un modified) 1981 Hydrostream Vector the weekend before last.
Bought it off of the original owner that bought it new in the Ottawa Ontario (Canada) area, then moved it out here to B.C Canada
Still all original, 1981 Mercury 140 inline, power trim, no jack or prop or anything, all stock. Original upholstery, wood wheel gauges etc.
It's the red with silver highlights color. Needs some minor tlc. I ripped out the interior to do a clean and some seat bottom repair.
I named it Flamin' Eddy
When I get home tonight I will add a pic as I know this thread sucks without a pic lol.
Anyway, Hello to all, and I look forward to using the site often!
Mark

Thanks! Yes we will see how things progress. Gonna do some tlc etc., then get in the water for some seat time this year. See where it goes after that, because I rarely leave anything unmodified.
That being said it's kind of a time capsule in a way, so I figure I will use it first and see what its all about.
I had tried to buy a Viper earlier this year but seller flaked out, and then this one popped up, and I got on it as fast as I could.

I haven't ripped up the carpet, but there is no obvious indication of any history of wetness anywhere from what I can see/feel so far.
It spent off seasons in covered garage apparently. It also had a snap cover for most of it's life until it fell apart.
The condition of the interior makes me hopeful, but I will check iit of course, and if it needs the "Hydrostream twostep" well then, so be it.
Stress cracks are very minimal, and no water in transom wood bolt holes, but after this season I am going to do some exploratory surgery to deep check.
The only thing of any urgency right now is the hull at the very back has a few significant gel coat wear spots that I am currently repairing for now.

thanks!
BTW.. I got another trailer for it already, the crappy one that's under it in the pics is like for a small aluminum boat or something. 12" wheels are too small for me....
