    Oil on cavitation plate

I have a 2018 mercury 300 racing OptiMaxx. After a day on the lake is it normal to see oil on cavitation plate

Check your oil inj pump on the star side of the engine. Not unusual for them to leak.

It is your oil punp leaking. There have been several threads on here and on BBC about this. They can be fixed with a new o-ring.

Seems like it’s coming out of the exhaust porch right above the cavitation plate

It is most likely dripping onto the pan then down and out onto the cav. plate. Take the cowl off and look on the starboard side near the front (below the harness connector). there will be oil on the bottom of the pump and the pan wet with oil.

As said above and give it a good cleaning and watch , not just fogging oil or such
