Cool STV "Beast Fron The East" - Hot Boat 1991 Article

Some of you might remember this STV Pro Comp Ski, which was on the south shore of Long Island. This was featured in Hot Boat, in September, 1991.

This boat was rigged by Diamond Marine, back when they were located in Farmingdale, NY. Look closely at the photos and you'll see one of them is reversed. That was the first time saw an STV up-close, and it looked insane to me.

So I thought you'd all like a little trip back in time. I think this boat is still in action, by the way. I know Brett Freitag owned it some years ago, and it even had a Diamond Marine programmable EFI ECU, which was still in use.

I'm a little surprised that Hot Boat could only get 100 MPH in their testing. The boat was probably set up mostly for easy-going pleasure use, but still, it did have a 2.5 240 on it.

I remember that perfectly. I had an earlier race boat version with a MOD VP Carb. Potato Chip boat. Fast in its day

    Hell yeah!!!
Now, for all you LI/Great South Bay guys...anyone remember around this time '91 '92 there was a yellow F1 or F2 boat that looked like Parkers screaming from the Amity cut to Babylon?
I was a little kid then but I swear seeing this thing (and 100s of hydrostreams, GW Invaders, ....etc) was what put the speed bug in my head
