    Sleekcraft SST with 115hp?

Any idea what speed a sleekcraft SST would run with a 115? Is 60 mph out of the question?
    Thx!

I ran a J Craft with a 115 for a year. 19 foot almost flat shallow V bottom, probably a bit lighter then the Sleek. 52 mph.

    Tunnels take HP to work.

I doubt it would hit 50. That boat needs horsepower and a lot of horsepower to run. The tunnels might even stay stuck to the water.

I'm thinking mid 40s. That is too much boat for a 115.

If you tore out the stringer/floor/transom and put in a foam transom and no stringer, no floor, and just did a lightweight build, maybe 50.

These are guesses based off running the Sleekcraft group on FB for the past 10 years and asking every single person what their top speed was. I know someone had a 75 on an aristocrat and it would just barely get on plane.

Not enough motor for a tunnel to air out. You will end up dragging lot`s of boat through the water instead of on top of it.

With a light fuel load, and the right prop, it "might" get to 45 to 50, and air out. My SST with a 225 Johnson, would "unstick" at around 50mph, with that heavier looper, and a 30 plus gallons of fuel.
91 Seaswirl 178 spyder sport. Evinrude XP175. (59 MPH, so far, and so close).

ID:	488680 This is the boat we got 52 with. My guess is faster than a Sleekcraft with 115. We have a 150 on it now, which is a lot more fun, although not much better for water skiing.
