I have a mint 1993 Merc 2.5L 260 that I would like to put up for trade. I'm looking to trade for a newer 200XS with Sportmaster lower and 20" mid.

200XS is lighter and more fuel efficient. I should still be able to get into the upper 80s maybe low 90s with the 200. Although, I might consider a 250XS if I found a good one.

If I knew of another place to look for motors and could find one to buy I would sell this one outright to someone. I would love to keep this motor, but after doing my research, I've found that this motor is for going fast primarily; which is great. But I need something that will get good fuel mileage so I can do more long distance cruising on the Suwannee River.

E-Tech is a good engine, but I want to stick with Mercury since a buddy of mine that I went to high school with is a big Mercury mechanic/dealer and his shop is less than a mile down the road from me.

I understand that, mercury is easier to play go fast with, but I've never seen one that gets the economy e tech does, I wish they would move forward on that wankle motor, i'f merc. Would implement some of the apx features into some of the consumer engines I would be sold for life, imo.

Any of the 2.5 Opti's are getting hard to find. If you are not interested in going fast the 2 stroke 175 ProXS would be a good second choice.
I have not seen any 200XS's lately and would have tried to buy it if I did.
