Q about Mercury Smartcraft gauge options
I have an array of Smartcraft gauges in a Checkmate 24 including a full size speedometer, a full size tach, and several small gauges.
Question is can I replace a small gauge with a different small gauge and plug it in where the existing gauge is and have it function? Plug and play?
The gauge I want is oil temperature. I can see this when I scroll through the options on the tach so I know there is a sensor.\\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\///

I'm gonna say yes. Should recognize the new gauge function, if you select it.

Yes, the half size smartcraft gauges are all the same. They have a 3 wire pigtail with a male and female end. Red, Blue and Yellow are the colors if I recall correctly. They are wired in series with each other, you can have one gauge or 10 and swap orders or whatever it does not matter. unplug the two plugs off one, plug in the new one!

At least there are no screws holing it on...you just gotta get your hand in there and you can get it out. You don't even need to see what you are doing to get them in/out.
