Allison XTB 21 2.5 200 EFI- How fast?
Fresh motor, keeping the stock LU. I have enough plugs to plug 3 holes down if needed. Putting a 10" Rapid Jack Magnum plate on it (made FOR an Allison's transom).
Not running heavy. Motor battery is in the bilge just left of center, the troller batteries are forward in each rear side compartments.
I can move the troller batteries about 12" back, if I need more rear ballast... but I don't see it.
And an OMC troller, 2 bank charger, two small graphs, two butt seats.
75 mph on a good day with enough chop/wind? 80 if I empty it?
Just playing around. Having the seats done and getting it ready. It has new paint and carpet and looks great!
And ALL BECAUSE my buddy said the Appaloosa are biting on the Missipp! I put in above Vicksburg.

Mine is the twin to yours, without the pedestal seats. I converted it from a bass boat to an open bow runabout. 1986 boat, same colors, but with a built 2.5L 200 that is now around 240. Running it by myself I balance it with weight on the left side. I have two standard marine batteries that I moved to the left rear compartment. It will run 87 with about 3/8" to 1/2" of Hotfoot left. I feel sure I can run it 90. I run a 28 pitch elephant ear chopper, and it drives really good with it. Just getting the feel for the balance it likes.

Back around 1990, I road / drove Pete Decler’s XTB / 200 ProV Yamaha ( probably was stronger than that ) - if memory serves he was running 84. He was the rep for Hydrostream in the glory days so he knew what he was doing.

I always like these boats. They're big, plenty of room and plenty fast for a big comfortable boat.

The problem is the aluminum plate thats put in the boat to put the mount screws through is so small that these modern trolling mtr bracketts wont line up enough to get the needed amount of screws to hold the mtr properly dont wont the mtr flying off the boat in rough water it had a motor guide old style even it was mounted by somebody who didnt know how to mount it some screws in the aluminum plate some just into the glass which is a total waste of time for strength i made an aluminum plate and got the ultrex mounted what an ordeal i know these new trolling mtrs werent made to fit the old style boats but i perfer the older boats to the new style so ill live with it and the alllison will fish on till im dead which ever comes first lol
