Cool I love these old films

YouTube is such a goldmine with old films, and I especially like these types of news-documentary films that were common decades ago. One such series was Industry on Parade, which basically highlighted the eras newest products and how they're manufactured, as well as construction projects and other things. The series ran from 1950-1960.

Didn't they play those as shorts at the theater? I knew they did for news back in WWII. My Dad ran a projector way back when.

I think they did, and like you said, it was very popular back then to have these extended shows before movies began. Of course, back then very few people had televisions so this was really the only way to deliver that kind of content. I think during WWII, the US Army had a theater series called "The Big Picture" and "Movietone News". There were probably many others. Very cool stuff.

Yes! I remember seeing them on TV, although not sure where. I remember the Movietone.

No TVs back then for most. All they had was a radio and a record player, if they were lucky. I still have an old Garrard believe it for not! HA!
