Hydrostream Venus
Just bought a 1990 Hydrostream Venus from her original owner. Boat was a custom order hatch delete model with what I believe is a one of one paint scheme.
1993 2.5L 260 Merc looks like a new motor inside and out and is bone stock except for the shaft has been replaced with a stainless one. I have a 24p cut chopper for it as well as a 4 blade stainless Stilleto. I'm located in North Florida and plan to mainly run it on the Suwannee River. Might take it to the St Johns a time or two in the future. Not to gloat, but this thing is so clean I'm slightly nervous to even put it in the water. If there were ever a museum quality, all original Hydrostream this is it. I'll get some pictures of it in the sun soon but here are the pictures I took when I picked it up.

Congrats on a sweet rig! I saw that thing for sale and was drooling but it looks like it went to a good home. A good method of keeping equipment tip top is do an inspection after each use. Check under the hull and look for damage/nicks especially in the core/pad area. Always keep an eye on the tell tale ( engine water squirter ) and perform regular lower unit oil changes along with fresh non ethanol fuels and good oil. If it hasnt already had the black box delete Id strongly consider that, as well as ditching oil injection and running premix. Probably last your whole life if you do follow that regimen
Have fun and enjoy it. Post some vidsHydrostream dreamin

I'll definitely get some videos of it running soon. What's the black box delete? I'm completely new to the 2.5L 260 world.

Yeah I need to take it out and get some more detailed pictures. Soon as I got it I put it in the garage, covered it up, and haven't taken it out since. That was a week ago and I've been really busy with work. I'll take it out this week sometime and get some better pictures of it. The inside is just as clean as the outside though. I swear you could put it on the showroom floor of a dealership and sell it as a new boat. Only thing I'm concerned about is the condition of the core/stringers; the transom feels very solid. I knew this going into it though. Pretty sure I read somewhere on here that the 89 and up Hydrostreams had more solid cores. I hope I'm right. Here are some pictures the previous owner sent me.

WOW! That sure is a beautiful Stream, congrats! Since you're in Florida, I hope I can see this one in person someday and shoot photos of it.

That is a great looking boat! I always hated the hatch, I did not know they had a hatch delete option, never saw one. Good luck, enjoy it.

Beautiful boat ! That came from Crosslake, MN ( I think ). I love these old "Streams" as they are getting harder and harder to find. Enjoy.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping. I'll get into it soon to make sure. If the transom is any indication I should be good because it's solid for sure. Not really sure if I'm going to run it with the 260 either. I'm thinking about taking it off and leaving it in storage and maybe getting a newer 2005-2008ish Merc 2.5 200 alien cowl. This motor is bone stock and looks new under the cowl.
