Shrimp head motor. After working on one .. I noticed it has pork chop sized clamp / trim unit .. so you can call it either.

If you squeeze the primer ball .. until you see a oil slick, chances are good your the kind of guy who can break an anvil with a rubber mallet ...

If you think your shrimp head runs so clean .. run a hose in your car / truck window, fire up the shrimp .. tell us how long you stayed inside ..

You bought a place in the swamp .. of course there are plenty of inbred's ..

I speak fluent hick , so I called all your nice neighbors and they is gonna be havvin a concert fer ya .. Yup dats rite .. all two skrokes .. all double oil .. all hi-rpm .. every weekend ..

Course ya aint been here long enough to realize that it will chase all yur skeeters away ...

You could always go back home .. big enough BBQ goin on , yur cheeze dip an shrimp will be well done in minutes ...

    Ohhuuuu gee golly ... yaaaaa

Thumbs up The Brainless one speaks....

the oil and gas residue is pretty hard to clean up.....
Sounds like that was your screw up over priming or leaking fuel lines/carb.

In the late 60s early 70s they shifted from 25:1 to 50:1 on the oil, which helped. The oil injected motors are even better. DFI even better than that.

But I run several old motors (early 80s) and none of them do that, unless there is a malfunction.

Even my Merc race motors I run 40:1 don't leave residue in the water.

Where do you think that film goes? Part evaporates, part degrades from the sun, part dissipates, and part is eaten by microbes.

Are you aware that raw crude oil seeps through fissures in the ocean floor? 5+ million gallons a year, a low guesstimate, I am sure. And that is almost FIVE TIMES what we spill.

And you are amused by the response? LOL! What did you expect? You come to the premier high performance outboard website and throw rocks at us. ???

We are laughing too, but we are laughing AT you, not WITH you.

Well... I get in an argument about enriching the idle jets to accommodate for the fiber reeds. But it is wrong. Once the motor is warmed up and isn't spitting, it is too rich.

Push in the key a few times. Once it is at temp, it will idle so much better and be snappy out of the hole. Usually if you are fishing or riding, you warm up once and you are done... Hear it "sneeze", push the damn key in!

All this IS - IS the reed companies covering their ass. JMO.

Ya Sean's a Yankee. I'm a native born in east central FL. And a remodeling contractor. So I work for a lot of Yankees. I recognize one when I see one.

And he's typical in that he's unfiltered. To the point of brash sometimes. And confidant to the point of arrogant.

But his heart's in the right place. I've met, dealt with, and think I know him. Not bad people.

    Maybe give him another chance.

And watch out for that next brick
