How do you make longer foam stringers when they only sell 4x8 sheets?

I've been looking into coosa and divinycell and whatnot, but they're all 4x8 sheets. I need a stringer that is 12' long.

    What do?

Maybe I'm losing it but I had thought there was a reply here recommending a scarf joint. In any event, that is the correct answer and is standard practice in wooden boat building to "stretch" lumber. Bond the joint with epoxy and wrap it with glass and it will be at least as strong as the rest of the stringer.

FYI in many boats there will be transverse bulkheads closer than 8' spacing so this becomes a non-issue.

Your not losing it Matt. I started out intending to help him. he went sideways so I changed my mind and deleted the post. I won't help someone that hurls insults and then asks for help with the next breath.

Fair enough, I don't blame you one bit. I missed that apparently.
