electric oil injection pump conversion kit

Anybody remember an electric oil pump conversion kit for 2.4 and 2.5 L that replaced the crank driven Mikuni pump? Allegedly developed by a Merc engineer? Saw one years ago, but not since...

Well, unfortunately I have a 1988 200, but thank you for the reply. Might you have any other suggestions?

Well duh! With all due respect, if I wanted to do that, I would not have asked the question. Anyone else have a helpful response? Thanks in advance...

Pretty sure the one in the link above is the only one ever made or sold, and yes I believe it was build by an ex Merc Engineer.

Mercury has an electric oil pump similar to the OptiMax oil pump without all the extra output lines... but I don't know how you would power it without a custom controller. I'll take a picture tomorrow if I can.

It doesn't replace the Mechanical Mikuni oil pump but instead drives it with a 12 VDC motor via a micro controller programmed to mimic the crankshaft gear rotation speed . A spark coil signal is inputted to the controller to monitor RPMs to adjust pump speed . The linkage on the throttle cam is still required to adjust the pump oil output though .

The one flaw is that they didn't utilize a different pump that did not require the linkage to the throttle cam . They could have varied the oil pump output with program code instead of a linkage and it would have been a lot cleaner , simpler system .

Are you aware of a current source for the conversion system?

Yea the Optimax oil pump is just a solenoid driven plunger controlled with a PWM signal from the ECM .
Do you know which Merc engine they made the pump with a single output for or have a part # ?

This one is off an '07 2.5L 150hp EFI motor... one inlet, one outlet versus like 7 outlets on the Opti pump.
