2.5 175hp big charging system question

Hey folks. I'm new to the Merc world.

    My 2.5 has 2 rectifiers.

When I hooked up my tach (grey wire) I had no signal, so switched it to the other rectifier. I now have tach.

    I'm getting 14 volts charging.

Is this normal or is only one of them working?

    (Motor runs perfect)

    Thanks

You need to get somebody else’s opinion, but I would think the one that you hooked it to and the tack did not work is bad.

14V is normal but if the tach doesn't work on one regulator, its bad. Better off to change them both out.
