The Last Waltz (a Martin Scorsese directed film) is second only to the music concert-film Woodstock. RIP today to the lead guitarist Robbie Robertson.

The Band’s last concert film featured — Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Muddy Waters, Van Morrison, Dr. John, and the Staple Singers’ family.

Here is Ronnie Hawkiins, as the first featured artist, who joins The Band on stage to kick-off the concert. “Big time Bill, big time” … “I walked 47 miles of barbwire” … “I turned 41, I don’t mind dying” … “who do you love”.

I think Robbie was the brains of the Band but my boy, Levon Helms was the soul!
