Set the water on fire. Well not really...

I’m not setting the water on fire but I sure will be comfortable out there. So I sold my valero and stuck to my plan. My next step was to get a nice fishing boat...Click image for larger version.

ID:	486567 which I did. No more wrenching on motors out on the water and being in tippy uncomfortable boats, turn the key and fish! Picked it up Wednesday, took it out for its breakin procedure and I’m very impressed with this 115hp pro xs, 45mph with this 18’ barge with a 97” beam( did I mention stable boat). Gonna take it out today and see if I can get som fish slime on it.
next step is to put all my energy into finishing the Ventura! That is if the fish aren’t biting...

I’ll tell you, I think Mercury really hit it out of the park with this 115 pro xs. I love this motor, I’m sure guys on here know more about it than I do but what I do know is it’s actually more like 126hp, has the larger gear case like the V6 motors do ( way better prop selection etc.) 6300 rpm, I believe 377lbs, can’t even tell it’s running at trolling speed, has a nice deep growl at wide open, I could go on and on. I think if somebody wanted a four stroke on a smaller go fast boat that can handle a motor at 377lbs this would be the cats arse. It will push my 18’ deep v to 45mph with a 17 pitch aluminum prop and that’s at 6000 rpms, she still has another 300 rpms somewhere in there. Wonder what it would push my Ventura at with the correct prop and gearing...

Those 115's are solid motors. Good luck with the new boat!

Thanks fellas, I love the boat. Now I have something useful for the whole family and the Ventura (when it’s complete) for that rush we all need at times.
