    Corvette C8, your thoughts?

I think the engineering and direction that GM went with the C8 is fantastic and for the price it’s a pretty amazing package. I think it looks pretty cool but I just can’t really fall in love with it it’s looks yet. I like sharp, angular lines in general but I’m not sure if they went a bit overboard on the sharp angles with its body design. I also don’t like the factory rims at all and the wheel offset looks a bit strange in the front with the way the wheels are inset relative to the fender. The right set of rims in that car makes a world of difference.

I know the Z06 is coming and probably a ZR1 ANS Grand Sport and I’m really eager to see what GM does with those. From what I understand the ZR1 will have twin turbos.

I think GM did an incredible job with the car overall and it’s awesome that it’s a mid-engine car now. I definitely want to test drive one.

It’s a lot more cool than uncool. Gm bodies take a while to grow on you and the trim/wheels always improve with model age. It’s so easy to wreck redesigns and thankfully the Vette has always managed to maintain its status and cool factor. Sure some years are better than others that goes without saying but the C8 gets a solid 8.5/10 from me. If the standard engine was the thousand hp it should have been 10/10

I used to have a C3, heavily modified, really enjoyed it, but no other corvette really excited me. The C7 Z06 looked like the pinnacle of what you could do with a front engine rear drive sports car, and I thought it was pretty cool until the C8 pictures started showing up. I've been out of cars for over 10 years now, this is the first one that had me wanting one again.

Faster around a track then a C7, but less practical. Either are too fast to push on the street and too fast for my driving talent. I would love one. So cool.

I absolutely think the C8 is the best Corvette yet. No doubt in my mind. GM definitely knocked it out of the park with it. I think the real potential of the platform will come with the Z06 and ZR1.

Road & Track has some video of a Z06 in testing and it sounds pretty amazing.

It kind of sounds like it has a flat crankshaft.

EDIT: Looks like it's going to have a flat crank.
