my reed screws didnt have lock washers when i disassembled, installed CCM reeds and the screws intrude into the inside of the cage close to an 1/8".should i use lock washers to bring the screws out of the airflow or use locktight and not be concerned with it?

They don't come from the factory with lock washers. You can order screws that are 1/8" shorter or like Ive done in the past Carefully grind 1/8" off them and reinstall with blue Loctite
