    Trash cleanup

Iím no tree hugger but had a conversation with some friends about people not cleaning up after themselves. Please help keep our favorite boating hangouts clean. Thank you.

Sometimes I feel like a garbage man. I have a net I keep handy to scoop up trash. More water bottles than anything else. Gotta keep the place clean...

Just did a spring trash cleanup here a few weeks back. It gets worse every year. What made it worse this year were all the damn masks.

And yes, beaches are even worse. Some people just leave everything. Like it is expected that someone will come in and clean up after them. Of course, there are garbage cans between the beach and the parking lot at my lake.

My shop is just up the street from a dollar store that used to be a grocery store... all kinds of trash caught in my fence all the time, but every once in awhile there's a $20 (and one time a $100 bill, probably from a drug deal in the parking lot one night).

FWIW, years back I worked with a guy that was 20 maybe more years older then me. Long time before I met him, he was down on his luck, homeless really. He told me a good place to go look for money was in a parking lot snow bank as the snow was melting. Years later I have a commercial lot and I have found more money in the melting snow banks then I have found everywhere else combined.

Makes sense if you think about it. People in a hurry while it is snowing, they don't even notice if they dropped money. Plow comes along and seals it in an icy snow bank until spring. Not like I have made a fortune because of this but I have found well over 100 in 6 years.
