Tilt Trim gauge
Hey folks
I just installed a Merc 2.5 on my Champion 184. I installed new Faria Gauges. I got everything hooked up and the Tilt Trim gauge goes the opposite of what the T/T is doing. If it's all the way down, it shows that it's up. If it's all the way up, it shows down. I took the sensor off, rotated the paddle 180 and reinstalled it. It worked as intended till I shut the key off, then it went back to being the opposite.
Any suggestions?

Lol!
It's pretty hard to mess up. One wire to sensor... key power, ground and illumination.
If I could flip it I would! Lol

Sounds like the ground wire and the sender wire got switched in the wiring harness somewhere....

I'll double check, but the gauges were all wired when the dash was out, and the illumination circuit works.
The sensor on the motor just has a ground wire that is grounded at the sensor and the actual sensor wire that goes to the gauge. Which is a new wire that I ran.

Did you get the right gauge? Some engines have senders that go from 33 - 230 OHMS, and others that go from 230-33 OHMS.........

I bought the one for Merc.
I just crawled under the dash. All is right.
I must have gotten the wrong one.
Crap.
Thanks

Interesting! I went with the 13016, looks like I needed 13017.
