    115HP Crossflow info needed .

Hello , I have been reading tech info and advice here for a few years but now I have a few questions.
    I picked up a 115 powerhead that may be replacing my 1993 90HP VJ90TLETS .
The 115 powerhead is from a 94 turbojet and needs a rebuild . I do see some things on this engine that I don’t see on my 90HP .
#1 is the small hoses going from the intake manifold to the bypass covers and one to the crank case , I think this is a fuel bleed/recovery system so my questions are As follows.
    What’s the purpose?
Do all 115 engines have them ?
What years was this system used? ( I’m wondering if this is even a 94 powerhead)
What are the pros and cons ?
    Is this system needed ?
The fuel pump pulse line also comes from a bypass cover , can I use the manifold and bypass covers from the 90HP and omit this from the 115 ?
    All input would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Does it still have the VRO?
Later engines had changes to the re circulation system, (all HP models changed in the same year) so they did idle lots better

Thank you . Yes the Turbojet had the VRO mounted in a canister off the engine with a fuel spill recovery hose that went to the stbd. side intake manifold . This fitting can be easily plugged. I will not be using the VRO fuel pump , it failed on my 90HP . I do believe the non VRO fuel pump I used on my 90HP still used the pulse hose and fitting.

It most likely is a 94. The recirc lines are on all of my 90's bubblebacks. Its NOT necessary. But it removes excess oil from the reed cage area running slow. The older motors dont have it. Well, my 1978 140 didnt have it. And I cant remember if my dad's 84 115 had them. It helps with idling from what I understand. My 112spl uses the manifold for the pulse fitting for the fuel pump.......directly behind the pump. The vro 115 uses a check valve lower on the manifold and plugs the fuel pump pulse fitting with a screw.

Thank you , My initial thoughts where to can the heads , manifold and bypass covers with the fittings , check valves and hoses from this 115 and use the ones from the 90HP.
I don’t spend too much time at idle . Maybe a few minutes at the dock to let it warm up.
I am still in tear down stage with the 115 , I just separated the case and found what looks like scoring from the crankshaft counter weights on the inside of the case. , pistons will be out soon .

So another question I have since I have some scoring going on in the crank case cover , I’m sure from shot crank bearings , Are the crank case covers interchangeable between the 90 & 115 ?

Yes but don't use the 2 locator pins just let the front half locate its self done it many times no problem.

The pistons are out , stbd. side pistons & cylinders scored , 1 piston looks like it was bottoming out and hitting the case at the bottom of the cylinder , port side pistons and cylinders clean but the rod bearing retainers scored the bearing race on the rods. Time to find a machine shop !

No bearing race on the rods. If rods are scored they need to be replaced.

Well there was a race but the bearings where so worn they scored the rods . The parts from my 90HP will be going into this 115 crank case as long as they are good . My 90 was rebuilt at one point it’s bored .030 ,

The above photos show where the crankshaft counter weights marked up the case .
