Oh yea there's that too.
I meant the electric drivetrain and all that money you'd save on fuel.lol..but doing more damage to the environment with all the crap for electric and charging(I don't know how bad ford is compared to others)
Only reason for an electric is the instant power for me.
But Im still into the eco twin turbo w the work mods I've got it's under 600hp(596) and just about 700 lbs tq. Plenty for me my lead ft and the boat for now. And the pedal commander throttle controller gets rid of the drive by wire lag.. was getting over 44mpg on the freeway the other day.
Half/most the fun is doing stuff to it..what I'm I going to do get a custom plug for the electric..

Oh I really like the 10 speed w the twin turbos.
My brother inlaws father has same thing w the 5.0 coyote motor he's a really old school mechanic 80+ years old and still working think down to 4 days a week..bought his brand new and he wouldn't look at the turbo. I took mine to him for the inspection and told him take a ride even he said he liked the turbo and 10 speed. He didn't realize they changed to the gtdi so turbos weren't go to have crap building up etc.LETS GO BRANDON.... LETS GO BRANDON

They run about 25k now. IF you can get one. They come with the best engine IMO the lil V-6. Make sure you get a 3.73 rear and limited slip.

Not available. Looked at new trucks a couple years ago. The bare bones base models all have power windows, touch screens and backup cameras. I could rebuild the 3 old trucks I have to better than new for what 1 new one cost.
I have rented a few cars with those giant touch screen TV's in the dash and all the warning lights for when someone is in your blind spot, very distracting. No thanks I'll never buy something with touch screen anything. I want buttons I can use by braille and not have to look. One car wouldn't let me set the cruise control in the rain because the sensors wouldn't work. No thanks.ANTI40It's just an idea.

Actually mine is voiced controlled so not reaching for anything usually sometimes force of habit.. I need/like the big screen to see what the heck I'm looking at..lol well mines not the huge screen it's the 8" one. But the other warning bells while driving I have turned off.. the only one I have on is the back up proximity sensor and one other..don't even have the seatbelt alarm on..you can finally program them off.
Yea I don't remember but was wondering the last years you could buy a bare bones truck.Last edited by mrichartz; 04-25-2021 at 06:51 PM.

I drove Ford expeditions for years. They are great trucks and good tow vehicles. I went to buy one recently it was about $80,000. Anyway I went another route. I bought a Honda pilot and an odyssey van for my wife for less than one expedition will cost. I get 28 miles per gallon on the road and it pulls a 22 ft boat very well.
Not really into the battery technology. Heck I'm still running two strokes on all my boats. And yes I'm old school.

I can order a 22 truck in Oct of this year. Truck would be here 3-4 mos after they start building them. Usually nov 15. My truck will still be very salable with low miles then. The bronco? Don't care. Hoped for better engine choices. Went with the 4 banger and base trim (dk blue w/grey int) with sasquatch pkg to keep it light and simple, dependable. Lock frt/rear axle, 4.70 gears, Manual 6 sp w/7th gear crawl with no transfer case. 33'' tires. The v-6 turbo engine is too complicated and a turbo for low speed off road makes no sense to me. Also has a 10 sp auto and a separate transfer case. (Wanted a coyote motor. hahaha) I really intend to use this thing offroad. Not in the swamp but in sand and on moderate trails. Don't want to tear it up too bad.
The driver assist works to stop or keep the truck going straight if it senses the driver falling asleep or when another car is stopped and your not braking. Very complicated and has had some issues. I still think you can back over people if you gun it.Last edited by XstreamVking; 04-27-2021 at 12:38 PM.
