    How much does a merc v6 power head weigh

    Need to pull the power head and I don't have a cherry picker will my garage rafters hold it

    It will hold. They weigh less than 200lbs. And my 275lbs self walks across garage rafters frequently.

    If you're worried go grab a 4x4 and use it to span a few rafters to spread the load.

    I have had a 4x4 spread acrossed 4 trusses and have lifted 600lb snowmobiles for years with out probs.

    Powerhead weight is irrelevant if the studs are frozen into the mid. Span a few trusses with a 4x4 or similar as you may be lifting the whole weight of the back of the boat.

    That's how I hung my motor... with a 20' Hydrostream bolted to it.
