    wh(18) carb jet question

From reading I gather the idle jet controls fuel flow through the whole rpm range.
If the idle jet was increased(to lean idle) would this cause the whole system to lean?
ei: would a 52 idle jet and a 72 main be leaner set up then a 46 ij and 72 mj?
If that is the case would leaning out the idle mean I would want to richen the mains?
ei If I went from 46 idle to a 52 would I want to go from a 72 main to 78 for about the same total amount of fuel?
