Got a new boat tug......
Home finances dictated my ‘15 GMC truck and it’s payment go bye bye which it did.
We’ve always enjoyed traveling and towing w/our vans so we went back to one.
Bought a virgin 09’ Ford e-350 one ton w/a 5.4 liter motor and 3.73’s.
Its 6600 lb tow capacity ain’t near the 10k that the truck had but the 25’ Checkmate we’ll be towing is only 4500 so it’ll be fine.
Im having problems finding rims for it and a leveling kit for the front end.
It sits 2” higher in the front, making it look like a work truck.
I did this to my truck and was a great update.
My guess is, the front end of the van is the same/similar to a F-350 truck but don’t list it for the van???
Wheels may be a bigger challenge.
Pretty sure axles are different length in van which changebthe back spacing on the wheels.
I did this on a 1 ton GMC yrs back and I found one wheel that would fit.
Anyone have any inside knowledge??Last edited by Instigator; 04-21-2021 at 07:29 AM.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Thx Mo.
Found wheels.
Like this thing more and more.
W/it being a one ton, I don’t think I even need brakes on the trailer!
What a beast 😂

Those are great vans we’ve had many. The front sway bar eats bushings and clangs and bangs in the control arm but fortunately for you I believe that year has the revised end link style bar and does not suffer from this. The braking power on these things is impressive. Fuel mileage ain’t so great, it’s not an LS/LT cheby on mileage or power but there’s more than enough grunt to do the work. Great visibility too
