What parts you think mercury left off the scale to come up with a 25 lb weight difference? Mercs published weights are about as reliable as there hd prop shafts.
    ANTI40It's just an idea.

You have multiple other choices to buy rather then bad mouth Mercury racing products. Why don't you mention Tohatsu, Yamaha, Suzuki, or Honda? I know you would buy any of them over a Mercury based on all of your positive comments.

Come up this weekend and show us how fast your not- We will run a few hundred miles as a group and you are welcomed to teach us all something.

395 lb, 6800 rpm, supercharged 3.4L, should be a beast. Too bad I already have a 200XS ROS''

That really surprised me them producing a high performance v6. An earlier thread that Greg started I commented that will never happen. I guess that proves I'm still wrong a lot. It will be interesting to see where these motors go and what boats they go on.

If I saw a high performance consumer 200 coming I would not have purchased my 200XS. Of course the consumer version is still just hope

Keep the hope, I think there will many good things to come from these new four stroke platforms above and beyond what we have already seen and are experiencing.

Certainly a great announcement producing unexpected hope for a consumer V6 a couple years down stream

Timing of that would be perfect for me. If the weight is light enough to hang off my Viking and the power is 200+ This would be ideal for me and many of us. The old two strokes are awesome but scarce in as new condition anymore.

A re-built 200 is new? You can build 3 for the price of one 4s.

And me personally would even take ONE over a 4 stroke

It's still hard to get excited about a "full-race" 3.4L four-stroke that makes an astonishing 200hp... for twice the cost of a 3.2L Opti that made 300hp.

Let's just go ahead and make America great again!

Four strokes are easy to upgrade. Head work and valve job alone can yield some solid gains. Cam swap and tune er up! Probably 20-30% more to gain with those mods
