Good. Now put a 15" mid and bolt up a sportmaster case and we got ourselves a 200+ HP light enough motor for us smaller single outboard fast boat guys. Come on Mercury its so easy!! Bring us a V-6 200R or 225R thats under 450lbs

My thoughts exactly, the fact they increased compression and are turning them 6800 rpm is a great thing.

You can build one yourself. Essentially you can take a V-6 225 and the 250R/300R solid mounts bolt right on and throw a sportmaster case right on supposedly. Wouldn't be very cheap but essentially you can make one. So why cant mercury just put those parts together and do it already? Seems so easy to do you almost have to think that they will maybe just a matter of time. Now with this motor they released it seems even easier to make the consumer 15" sportmaster version and be done. But then again you never know maybe it will never happen.

I’m thinking a small better engine with boost. 300hp in the 250-300lb range sounds good

No mention of what it weighs. All that money they'll be saving on gas, props, maintenance. Will go to building new hulls to float that pig.

50% less emissions that an opti? I don't believe that for a second.

Problem is, they seem to keep the hi-po stuff out of the consumers hands. Not the mercury of old that sold us the 280 OS and the 300 X thru a dealer.

Hopefully the approach with the 360 and now 200 APX motors is to give something to the racing guys and allow them to work some of the bugs out then in another year we see the 225R V6 and 350R V8
