Question Which one of these color combos do you prefer

Going to finish painting my truck, it's all blue now, and want to put a lighter color on the upper part of my truck. The reason I want to go two-tone is so my truck's interior won't be so hot in the summer months.

The first two are white and the rest go from silver to gray. Silvers and Greys would be metallic. Reply which one you like #1-6, thanks.

I always liked the chebbys with the contrasting colors on the top and the bottom. Like blue top and bottom with silver in the middle. Out of the ones you asked about #3 seems good with the bright silver.

Yeah, the dark/light/dark color scheme does look good, not so much in the reverse order. The reason I'm doing it this way is to lower the interior temp when I get in the truck.

    Two thoughts:
    1) ThermoTec insulation inside doors & roof instead?
    2) Silver vinyl wrap either on just the roof or per your design?

I like #1 because in ‘87 I bought an F250 just like that for the exact reasons you are going this route.

Have the same problem here in Florida with the heat. I had ceramic window tint professionally done on all of my windows including the windshield. The windshield tint is clear/slight, you can clearly see through from inside the vehicle and is legal in Florida. I was told it cut the heat by 80 per cent and they were right, it works. In fact, it worked so good that I had it professionally installed on two huge windows facing the afternoon sun in my home. Again, it works, and I don't need window shades or shutters and the room stays comfortable. Comes in different tint shades. I would check the laws in Louisiana but it definitely keeps the heat out.

Never heard of ceramic tint. I'm gonna have to check into that. Need my driver's door window redone anyway and it would be easier just to repaint the rest of my truck the factory blue like it is now. I'm no painter but can do good enough for a 1995 Z71 daily driver.

What did it cost to get the ceramic tint?

I believe I paid about 275.00 for the windshield, driver and passenger side windows, the rear window was heavily tinted from the factory, a 2500 HD Chevrolet. Worth every penny.

I plan to put a gold, red, or maybe green, pinstripe just like in the pictures. I'm thinking around 3/16"-1/4" thick.
The original picture was all blue and I added the top color/pinstripe in MS paint. That's why the lines are jagged.

Cool stuff! That's exactly what I was thinking. I just re-read the post..........I see that you could click on it...........DOH!!! Sometimes a man's reading too fast and missing the details. Sorry bout that.

Here's what I have found out, and I checked into a lot of the good car painters.........that color line is supposed to pop. A hot color......pink, lime, chartreuse......I guess 70's mopar covers the color wheel......

Sorry for missing the details in the post. The truck should look real nice the way you have it.....regardless of the top color...........I just like white the most.

Who's products are you gonna use?

Good info about the ceramic coating. Hey CDave, what's the paint brand you plan on spraying? Just curious.

When I did the repairs on my truck , after the wreck, the place I went to sells Dynacoat so that is what I used. I was shocked at how much it cost but I did get urethane paint.

I didn't specify I wanted a topcoat system and they mixed the paint in base/clear system. I had never sprayed that before. I didn't find it any different to spray but twice the spraying. Per forkin's recommendation I used epoxy primer.
