Bracket serial number different than Block number

    Hi all
Is it usual for a Pro max to have a different number on the block than on the Bracket?Click image for larger version.

not unusual for motors that old.. but numbers do match when it leaves merc.. (normally, but it is merc high performance we talkin' about)

either clamp, down housing etc has been changed and/or powerhead has been changed.. tha powerhead (2000 year) left merc as a complete 15" PM and tha clamp and such left merc as a complete 20" (1999 year)..

best i remember they came with either torque or sport master.. although tha very first PM coulda had a cle (pre sporty)... that looks ta be plain 'ole semi coned "fat block" (no low water pick up) case.. one of tha first ta have tha anodes instead of exhaust slots... so no.

If I tell, you probably wont answer my next question.
    But what the hell.
    Modified, padded Sidewinder.
Those good cases arnt easy to get here in NZ.

Its got 30 mm prop shaft journals.
That doesnt seem very American to me?
