It is going to incredible when battery technology looses the weight

Imagine a few of these bolted to the transom with direct drive gearing due to the engine rpm capability and torque. We will potentially have power that makes todays stuff look childish. Its only going to take batteries becoming light weight and having a charge life that is acceptable to consumers. Long range and or fast charge rates are going to bring incredible performance to our market.

supercars will all do 300mph, normal car 200mph and 1000hp and retro racing ICE engines in boats and cars will become the popular sport as new stuff is and will be boring.
Offshore racing at 100mph was popular, now as the speeds go up its boring and a far smaller sport.

I think the rules need to change for cars once they all have batteries and that end to end responsibility, lots of manufacturing should be the same.
The car needs to be disposed of by the manufacturer at end of life to prevent that that pollution and land fill at end of life.
What we do now is not sustainable.

That is the question that shuts all the EV supporters up. What are we going to do with all the batteries once they are beyond their serviceable life? Out with the crickets.

EV's are cool in their own way. Nothing beats the rumble of a gas motor though. I have old bikes that are fast, but nothing like the newer ones. But the older, slower ones shake you to the core and feel like you are going a lot faster. That works for me too. I do not look forward to not having a choice to own a gas vehicle, but see the time coming.

Toyota is all in on solid state because they know we had to get to the step away from all the hard to get heavy problems to produce in mega numbers, we are talking for home storage for your solar roof, to feed your car at home.

Offshore racing is not boring. It was boring for spectators to watch when they only saw the boats come by every hour (I was there as a kid on the bow anticipating the next lap pass). The reason that the sport is smaller for two reasons 1. We lost the flash--When you have movie stars, professional athletes, business owners at the level of Gentry, and Copeland dumping money and promoting anything as a collective group and putting on the pits show, it will attract and capture an audience. 2. The overall cost, Obamas economy, and promoters not working together did nothing to help things progress forward. We now have manufactures getting personally involved again, promoters, working together, outboard and lower tech entry classes to make it as affordable as possible for participants to get involved, and guys like Pastrana and his group getting in the game the bringing corporate attention with him.

An electric class might be the next generation and will be anything but boring along with hopefully being more affordable at some point.

I do know that the new batteries will be highly recyclable but I don't know to what point we will get over run when you talk about the numbers we will face as affordability and efficiency make electric vehicles a viable option for everyone. The next issue is the grid that can't support our usage now!!!

Racing will all be done on simulators so nobody gets hurt... the fast guys won't need to be strong or brave or in good physical condition; just young nerds with button skills.
