    new toy/tool

I have been wanting one of these for some time now. Originally had an in ground 10,000 lb lift but something gave way underground and it would no longer hold oil. The shop has in floor heat so I was a bit skeered to drill any holes to mount the above ground unit. Good friend said they used a heat gun to determine the location of the tubes so I gave it a shot and it works well. A member here bought a larger boat so he needed his lift out of the shop. Made me a good deal and now it is in my shop. No more laying under vehicles. This one lifts 9000 lb which should be fine.

It's surprising how affordable they are. This one new was $2000. There are much cheaper ($1100) and of course much more expensive. This one will last forever for me since my priorities list is headed by fishing instead of working.

Very nice. It looks like if you fab some 90 degree turn ins you could grab a hull by its side and lift it right up off a trailer.
