You might want to Quiz - Injection Services - Blake he is a member here - off to the left hand side - his advertisement- should get some facts off of him.
Just so your aware - I read that some members add some oil to the fuel and run that in to stop the fuel pumps from sticking - then I thought I read Mercury doesn't recommend putting oil in the cyl plug hole for storage - I thought that was a bulletin , not sure - that is why I thought Blake might be a good solid fact based guy to chat with . Post up what he states as I also run an opti and am going to ask similar questions .

Merc put some red oily stuff in the fuel when they ran optis at the factory. Don't know what it is but Blake or Chris Carson probably know. Had one sit for 8 years new in box and it started right up. No stuck rings, all pumps operated as they should. I know that isn't too helpful, but if you can figure out what that red stuff is...it works

They actually do reccomend (per service manual that is) to put some engine oil in the chambers and rotate by hand. Personally I would use a combo of Quickstore with some 2 stroke oil mised in. Run through a portable tank. I guess it depends on how long your going to be storing it. You could pull the fuel rails and direct injectors off, put some fogging oil in, and re-install the injectors and rails. That would keep the direct injectors from contacting the oil until start up, where it would be burnt off anyhow.

Many ways to skin a cat. The main thing is don't do nothing.
