I got this 1989 Johnson VRO on a trade and there is no tag or vin anywhere I can see it all taken apart. I was wondering how can I find out what this actually is, and are there any good rebuild with modest high-performance gains with this motor? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!! I plan on rebuilding this motor and an old 1980 Allison in the next few years.

Welcome aboard, check for the numbers on the freeze out plugs on the block. That will help with the powerhead but it'll be anyone's guess on the mid/lower
