    Switchboxes

$50 for 2 boxes??? They just keep on getting cheaper and cheaper! This set ships local from Hayward, CA...Chinese mfr.s partnering with local businesses just to use their address...but if you went to contact them on ebay I am SURE they are not from Hayward...

BTW, I only use the merc racing switchboxes on my stuff, I just though this was pretty comical. Feel bad for those who buy them. They look kinda cool with the clear resin.

They actually work pretty good, I came across these when I was putting an old xr2 together and figured "what the hell ". They worked fine. Not sure I'd put them in the promax though

They work just fine until that fateful moment at which they do not work just fine and then one of them starts double firing and then the next minute, you have scored walls and perhaps a hole in your piston. Then it becomes the most expensive $200 ever saved on cheap switch boxes.

What is your all's take on cdi's ignition components? I would like to freshen up the electronics on my 2.5 merc and came across their 40 amp performance kit... Just a fishing motor here, just want reliability and longevity.

CDI in my opinion makes decent parts. Never had a failure from their stuff from optic sensors on an old johnson i had, to different merc parts. Not sure how their parts would hold up on a race engine, but for fishing purposes, I don't see you having a problem.
