Omc v4/v6 gearcase blend question

Hi Guys.

I'm looking at rebuilding my gearbox for racing. I have been hunting through google and cannot find the information. I have the standard v4 gearcase with a 15spline conversion but wondering if the v6 1.86.1 gears fit in? Also if they do is there anything special required to make them fit. I cannot use an actual v6 case as the extra size of it and shaft drop would be too much of a hindrance, but if the gears are interchangeable then I'm keen to build up another case.

No they do not inter change. The 1985 V4 looper had a unit the size of a V6 but with different ratio and drive shaft.
