This "captain" is a real dim-wit. The time to do all of this lofty "good for the land and water " was 50 yrs ago. You can never bring back the ecosystem. These grifter clean water guys are just making money from the cause. I know several guys that have made a TON of money from this scam. More people move here everyday. More boats and cars and development. And your gonna sit there and tell me how you are gonna fix this if I just support the cause. Or just blame it on big sugar...Yea, riiiight.....Intellectuals with hi-priced skiffs running up and down the coast taking cute pics are gonna save us.

The Sugarcane industry south of lake Okeechobee is a major industry, that thrives because of diverting the Sea of Grass water and drying the land for the Sugarcane crop.

It's been the same sugar production since the 40's. The regs put on sugar are very tight. I see the water quality, and the lack of and abundance of it too. The army corps controls the water. Sugar has an allotment they cannot exceed. The testing of the discharges from sugar is constant.
Place the blame where it belongs. Too many people and rampant greed ending in over development. I see the abundance in the gulf coast everglades and the shortages in the inland airboat trails. These clean water grifters are just in it for the money and endorsements.

Oh I plan to. It's a nice hat, I would've just spent my money elsewhere. I'm not one to throw out perfectly good items out of spite.

Well Kirchy .. the lake water is above sea level . Once apon a time it all went south thru the glades . The Army corp. and Florida water mgt. ( same folks that thought it was a good idea to straighten out the St. Johns) dug a trench across the state.

Certainly tired of the hippy dippy enviro-blame game. This captains for clean water crap is absolutely a money machine.....Xstream hit the nail on the head, FL water and land are being screwed up by the thousands of ridiculously large condos and massive unregulated buildings going up everywhere......thousands of new residents means thousands more toilets that have nowhere to flush

Here in Jax I have called the NPR, FWC, FGC, CG, DNR, and SJWM after several times a turd still wrapped in toilet paper floated by at the boat ramp from the 60-70 houseboats and yachts docked at the nearby marinas with potable water tied to them. Everyone I talked to claimed to be totally helpless about addressing the problem. The answer they were hiding from me was the fact these boats were owned by wealthy politicians, lawyers, doctors and Democrat donors. Many are Snowbirds from up North [due to the home cities in their boat names].
