    Hydrostream windshield....

I bought a hydrostream copy a while ago and haven't had a chance to do anything to it. It came with a custom windshield that is kinda busted up, but it's definitely fixable. My plan was to pull a mold off it to make more. I think it'll fit other models. I have a 17 vector copy. Anyone have any insite or opinions? I'm sure it would need custom fitting/glass work regardless what it goes on. I'm working on a few things, but hope to get some time to work on it and was still thinking about pulling a rough mold to make a good part off of so a good mold could be made. Just looking for thoughts and into. Click image for larger version.

There's a place that makes the plexi W/S for the pointy streams now. Glass ones were made by Scott on here, but he passed away some time ago. Might be a small market for them.

I figured it would be a small market, but there are so many running around with no windshield.

I like the look of the fiberglass ones myself. Boats def need them for performance.

The problem is you can't get a new top rail/frame. As Xstream stated UPD plastics makes the shield itself, but no one makes the rails. I've thought about doing them myself but the minimum order limits for new extrusions is crazy high, 5,000-10,000 feet. It can't be formed out of sheet metal on a press brake like I did with the rub rail, but it would be a fairly simple set of extrusion dies. Then becomes the issue of shipping it once it's formed, it won't fit on a 4x8 sheet of plywood. From what I can see most people rebuilding 'streams aren't willing to dump a grand into a new windshield.

i'd be interested in a rough [plug] copy of it and would fit it to my vking project, you could cut it in half to ease shipping if your interested in doing that, John

Many years of grime cleaned off. Still a lot of prepping, but after years of sitting, something's started .

Well hopefully I can pull a part that's good enough to be primed and painted, or faired into a boat seamless. And hopefully it won't cost $1000....

So I see you have as much time as me. I was wondering if you ever tried anything with this, I'm still "working" on my 18 v-king and would be interested in one, as before you could cut it in half for easy shipping, Good Luck an keep in touch, John
