New to Outboards and wanting to learn about my engine

hey all. im fairly new to owning an outboard
i purchased my first boat last year; 18 foot targa with a 115 mercury on it, it blew up so now im putting on a mercury v6 175 (blackmax?) that i got from a buddy.
was wondering if anyone could give me some info on what exactly it is as far as being a 2.0 or 2.4? what gear ratio it might have and anything else.
    the serial number is 5394305
here's a pic of it I took while I was building the set back plate.
    thanks in advance!

    awesome thank you.
also, im re plumbing all the lines from my tilt pump to my cylinders. i have the dual cylinder tilt set up not the typical big center tilt cylinder. i was wondering why the fittings going into the cylinders are different sizes? but the actual hose is the same size?

They really don't distort as bad as people think , especially if u don't swap heads out much
