Interesting video, Dave. I had a close loved one die from cirrhosis of the liver recently after years of heavy drinking. I spent the last month with him in ICU/hospice and it was a terrible death. I was never a heavy drinker but it made me cut way back on my personal alcohol consumption. We’re not spring chickens anymore.........

A healthy lung and a Cigarette Smoker's lung.
Unfortunate for my family, we had a smoker in our family who smoked.
And I believe he shorten his life by, a decade , because of smoking and drinking his after dinner scotch whisky.

These are real human bodies preserved by a process called Plastination.
I saw a similar exhibit a decade ago in Southern California, from Germany.

Been dealing with a pain in my side for just over 3 years. Gone through blood tests, cat scans, scoped, never showed any issues. Started to think it was a mental thing until one day I couldn't go in to work it was so bad. Discussed with the dr again and decided my alcohol intake was too high anyways, might as well start there. Went from a 40 of rum a week to an occasional glass of red wine, made the change in October 2020 and almost immediately started to feel better. Now I'm sleeping better, waking up easier, and just generally feel better all day.

Those lung pics is why I quit cigarettes. Quit drinkin cuz I was getting too good at it. Knowing how hard it can be to kick addictions my hat is off to all quitters.

Dealing with an addiction is like wearing handcuffs and not knowing it. The people who are successful with while functioning with an addiction and consumption problem would most likely be among the ultra successful of our society if they were not influenced and distracted. It is really sad the number of lives that are taken, families that are destroyed, productivity that is lost, and general negativity that is created by something that is so socially acceptable and we have made it available at almost every store we have. Now we have legalized weed to coming into the picture to compound the problem and if you are lucky enough to live in Oregon you can deal with members of society using the hard drugs and not have it be a crime.
I have lived with alcoholism my whole life and was VERY lucky to learn from watching others at a young age and never really got involved. I have seen alcohol cost my family members multiple millions of dollars in destruction, health issues, and relationship failures. I just never understood what is so bad living in reality and not having to "escape". Its nice to hear about the people that have made life changes for the better of themselves and people around them.
Don't worry, Biden is going to fix all of this for us "Trump didn't drink", take a look at Bewildered's nose and make your own determination.
