    Hull Fire Damage

I came across a rig for sale that had heavy fire damage. I'm sure the repairs will far exceed the price of the boat, but it got me thinking..... is something like that even able to be repaired? I would assume the fiberglass would be damaged beyond repair. Anyone ever take something like this on?

You have to cut way around the damaged areas. There will also areas that are not burned, but are heat compromised. I repaired a 36' cabin boat and it was a mess. Never did get the burned smell out of it I bet.

I think you just need to have a good eye to assess the situation. That will give you the information you need to decide if its worth it or not. If it were me, Id give it a once over and then make up my mind.

Depends on the boat and it's use and the severity of the damage..... In my book, if it's just deck damage less than 30%, it's a go....... Hull damage up front, maybe.... hull damage near the transom.... no way................

Just cut the burnt part off and put it back in the water!
