    82 merc 2.0 steering arm?

How trust worthy is this thing with a seastar pro helm it seems very skinny and janky.

just change the tiller out i have several of them only thing is they are on midsections so to remove one u effectivly lose the mid section as a item for sale ive not sold to many cans or trim brackets or mid sections as i think on it so im holding on to a vanishing item 2.5 motors in general they have lost out to cubic inches sound familiar

So I am glad I am seeing this thread because I got an early 80s offshore style single ram trim bracket that I will be putting a sea star pro on and now you are saying it wont work?

I know the early 90s 2.0 and 2.5 have the wide tiller swivel arm, but how is the early 80s different than the skinny late 80s 3 ram trim bracket arm different than the early 80s single?

If you value your well being you will swap it out for the fat arm.

will have ta be from a "single" cylinder tilt n trim.. tha shoulder (or lack of) is what ya gotta match don't know if shoulder is same on early (pre '83) production single ram as later model hi perf/offshore single ram?.. if not ya may be outta luck!................

justa thought.. how much horse power ya reckin has been put on tha skinny arm long before tha wide body came on tha scene.. i never broke one and don't know of anyone else that has BUT have heard tha stories.............. torque is torque.. tha applicator (hyd. or cable) really makes no difference.. jmo.

    jan.. tha brace works....

Just put two 3/8 Stainless fender washers in there so the hydraulic steering arm bracket clear the mid section arm
