Boat Moved Across Border at Port Huron / Point Edwards

Hey All. Anyone have a reference for a boat broker / tow company that can tow a 21 foot boat on the trailer across the border? I did call Dave Kopriva at Bothwell Boatworks, recommended on another thread (very helpful guy), but the rate to put the whole rig on a flatbed to bring across was understandably very expensive. I'm thinking there has to be a broker with a pickup truck that could just hitch up to the trailer? Thanks in advance.

Here's the problem as I understand it;
Border is only open to commercial traffic.
Commercial carriers are not insured if they use your trailer - only their trailer. Therefore your boat & trailer have to be loaded onto whatever they are using.

Also you may want to look into what is required to register/plate a US trailer for use in Ontario.

And last - consider using a customs broker, in most cases it is well worth it.

Call UPS. Dealt with this once before and while broker wanted an outrageous amount of money UPS agreed to do it for $75. May be a whole different scenario but it's worth a phone call. Good luck.
