    2.5 Crank

    Hey Folks

I picked up a 2.5 that I found the number 1 cylinder head gasket blown. There was some pitting and on the cylinder below it I saw some scoring, but nothing I could feel with my finger or finger nail.

No biggie, new gaskets, hone and re-ring.

Well... I got it disassembled tonight.

Apparently this thing sat and the crank shows some signs of damage.

On the good side... it has the plastic bearing retainers, so I need to order the steel style bearings... and due to the scoring, it probably would be good to go .010 over. The rebuild kit I found has the pistons and metal caged bearings... so that's good...

BUT that crank... oof. I'm really hoping I don't need to try and track down a crank.

(For some reason it's not letting me attach pictures right now. I'll try in another post)

Even if I can feel it with my finger? Cylinder 1 feels pretty bad, cylinder 2 I'd feel slightly better, it's just visual, I can't feel anything... I'd probably still feel better polishing it, but man cylinder 1 has me a bit worried.
