    Anybody recognize these?

I will pull the hubs this weekend (hopefully) and see if there are stampings, but until then, do these look like Mercury humpback cleavers? They work great on my Daytona.

    Merc Humpbacks

Humpbacks? LOL Never heard that nickname before. Yep, these are Mercury Racing products.

Quite a story on how these props came into being. Mercury Racing spent a ton of money developing all the pitch rate lost wax steel tooling for a basic cleaver 4 blade prop. Problem was for some reason they would throw a blade (regardless of pitch rate). Rather than scrapping all the lost wax tooling to make these props they machined a "hump" into the trailing edge of each blade to stiffen them up. Clever! I always thought it gave these props a very unique appearance. I still have a couple of these for show-n-tell today.

I agree. They work great on my Daytona.

I was confused as I thought other prop companies also made a "humpback" type cleaver, that's why I asked if it looked like a Mercury product. It looks like Merc is the only one that made this type after doing a little research?
