WTH is up with this piston???

    V200 - 2.4
So I'm ordering rings tonight and realize that one of my pistons is different from the rest - it's the #1 as marked. It's .010" over - no big deal. In a steel sleeve - no big deal. But when I looked closely, it's missing some ports in the side like the other ones have. Are these holes for the "finger ports?" What do they do? Was this hole down on power if the piston didn't have the ports in it?

    Thanks all

I have five Wiseco 3102's and this one has no markings on it. Are rings specific to a manufacturer of a piston? If so, I might just buy another Wiseco 3102S1 and be done with it. Will this cylinder make more power with a FP piston in it?

    Just drill the piston.
mark the holes and then drill out the piston ports.
clean up and the ports on the inside and outside. but before drilling it make sure the sleeve its going in actually has finger ports .

So will a drilled piston allow more good stuff to happen in that hole? (more power)

also, are rings unique to a particular piston maker? wiseco rings in a wiseco piston, merc rings in a merc piston...
