    your over complicating it..
    make the throttle at the motor a pull cable for raising throttle and simply run 2 cables like for example bicycle brake cables/normal throttle cables for cars etc..
    (actual cables that are bendy/floppy, rather than the stiff single wired normal boat stuff.
    This would mean the cable for either one would simply go slack when the other one is being used . job done.
    But can only do this to the throttle not to the gear change...

    This is a diagram of the connections, I only used the throttle plate, didn’t need the shift plate.

    It works surprisingly well but make sure you use the extreme cables since the friction multiplies when you add the junction. And make sure to keep it lubricated so nothing binds.
    Any chance you have a picture of this rigged in your boat? The instructions with this thing are worthless, as I'm sure you know. Seems like clamps included went work with Gen 1 cables... I may have to build a few new clamps or something.
