Baja gets a new lease on life...........

You guys may remember when I re-did this Baja 16 many years ago... I used it for a few years then sold it to a friend who in turn sold it to someone who neglected it..... Well, someone with class bought it not so long ago and has been getting it back in shape.... He called me asking the info on the engine and for advice why it would not run. Well a few words of advice to him and he had it running in no time and took it for a few laps:

Well, he tore into it since the upholstery was somewhat trashed as was the carpet and the paint was faded.... He did compound and wax an area and it looked like it would be fine, but he decided to wrap it....
He also found some rotted wood due to it sitting full of water and partially sinking. He is well on his way to reviving it:

Sad to see folks let a good boat sit with water in it. There's an Action or something similar near my brother in Hampstead NC with an alien cowl Merc of some sort sitting in a neighbor's yard. No cover and bow lower than transom. Has to be full of water. Sad to see. Could at least jack the front of trailer up so it drains. Sort of like the wild green wrap on the baja.

Nice! I’ve owned a couple of Baja’s, a 15ft and a 16ft tri bow rider. Did you modify the bottom at all? Looks cool, it’s nice to have a unique ride.

Yeah, did solo trips to Elliott Key so needed a VHF. Plus it looked cool...... 2.5 175 fish with a light cowling... had to mod a little to make it fit..... Hydraulic steering with copper lines. if I remember right, 23 pitch pop no jackplate

Kudos to you, Flabum, for helping him out. Nice to be able to start with real info about the hull.
