Not Starboard, PVC sheets for boat interiors and 1/4" 1/2" and 3/4"????

Not Starboard or Veranda sheets. The last boat I redid, I bought foam board pvc that could be stapled etc. Its lighter than starboard and also lighter than Veranda brand board that Home Depot/Lowes sells. What is that called and where can I order sheets for it? Thanks, Mike

FarmTek sells PolyMax HDPE Board Sheets in sizes up to 1/4 thick. Tough, durable, waterproof. They use it to line barn stalls. If livestock can chew it or kick it should be good for a boat interior. I used it for an RV garage ceiling in place of drywall to save weight. Easy to cut and handle. Structure is just like cardboard only its made out of recycled HDPE (milk jugs).

...high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic sheet material is NOT what you want for interior upholstery. you want poly vinyl chloride/ PVC sheet material. look up your local larger city's "wholesale" plexiglas or plastic sheet/rod/tubing warehouse supplier. they will sell PVC sheet material in all thickness's. its available in different surface quality grades also. the lesser the grade, the less the price. usually two or three different grade quality's are available. in other words you don't need the baby smooth surface quality version, most of the time that is, because it get covered with contact adhesive, foam, and vinyl. its lightweight, takes a staple(chisel point stainless only staples), can be mechanically fastened, and can be glued with pvc cement. if buying from a wholesale/distributor warehouse supplier, it also might be available in another, less popular color, that the wholesaler can't move. ask if they have any "off-color" sheets they want to sell for less. this also, can save you some money.

...while at homo depot a couple weeks ago, i did notice that they had one or two thicknesses of white PVC sheet material available in the lumber area. was surprised to see they had it. been using strictly pvc in marine interiors since the mid 90's when it came out. only way to go & most good marine upholstery shops have finally switched over to it. sometimes they will ''still" use plywood for cabin stuff, as they justify it as never getting wet...but no thanx....

Wife gives me the stink eye when I call it the homo depot...hahaha. King starlite is what I have seen as popular for places where starboard is not needed. Same company...

Yep, agreed. Depends on what you are using it for. PolyMax sheeting waay to flimsy as a base panel for any upholstery. However, whether you use PVC or HDPE, these plastic supply outfits want way too much money for the stuff. If you ask them about cutoff scraps, you'll get this story about "recycling" contracts and won't help you.

...everythings expensive these days. if you think its expensive to make your own interior, just drop your boat off at a quality marine interior shop & let them give you a quote. you won't think a couple 4 x 8 sheets of pvc material is so bad at all...
