Trim repair suggestions
I have an 84 200 Merc with the old single ram trim. Where would be the best place to get a repair kit for the trim cylinder, I believe the part# is 79879A1. It slowly leaks down and I believe it is the cylinder. Also, starting to see a little smoke coming from the top of the trim motor. I had it apart and all looks fine, I cleaned the commutator and put back together but not sure of the armature condition. Should I consider another trip pump like a used Mercrusier for a little faster trim and maybe more available parts? Not racing just want it to work good. I seen parts on eBay but just looking for suggestions...
